Andrea Lopez
I am a Colombian American mixed media artist. My paintings consists of collage, acrylic, oil pastels, charcoal and multiple other media. My art making is a very intuitive process. I can be inspired by a simple color or shape. This progresses as layers and marks are added and subtracted until a more representational image evolves. My subjects are a combination of both the realistic and the abstract. Color and texture are powerful elements that run throughout my pieces.
As shapes become more simplified, my love for the play between colors takes hold. I strive for my work to narrate a story that elicits joy and curiosity in the viewer.
